Abby Campbell via NaturalHealth365 – In reality, more and more studies are showing that a mammogram breast screening has some major flaws – which put women at serious health risk and actually increase the risk of cancer. An X-ray picture of the breast, called a mammogram, is heavily promoted as the ‘primary way to screen’ for breast cancer, according to Western medicine. Conventionally speaking, an annual detection screening is recommended as early as age 40 by both the American Cancer Society and the National Comprehensive Cancer Network, while the United States Preventive Services Task Force recommends screenings every other year starting at age 50. While mammogram guidelines differ amongst organizations, they all agree there are concerns about the test. Yet, disputes exist amongst experts when it comes to mammography detecting invasive breast cancer. So, the question remains: do the benefits outweigh the risks? In reality, more and more studies are showing that a mammogram breast screening has some major flaws – which put women at serious health risk and actually increase the risk of cancer. Strange logic: Zero-stage cancer detected but treated aggressively Ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) refers to the abnormal growth of cells forming a lesion between 1 and 1.5 centimeters in diameter. While this is not cancer, approximately 25 percent (60,000 cases) of all newly diagnosed breast cancer falls within this category each year. Because evidence indicates that less than half of DCIS cases progress to invasive cancer, some experts declare it should be reclassified as a non-cancerous condition. Additionally, they recommend a “watchful eye” for women who have this condition rather than invasive therapy. After all, why treat someone who doesn’t have cancer with chemotherapy or radiation – which places their immune systems at risk for a lifetime? However, mammography proponents claim they’re saving lives through early detection and treatment of DCIS. They view it as pre-cancerous or “stage zero cancer” and believe it could eventually cause harm if left untreated. Therefore, they recommend treating it in the same manner as invasive cancer with aggressive treatments. But is this right or fair? According to Time Magazine, “Cancer has a language problem … A 57-year old woman with low-grade DCIS that will almost certainly never become invasive hears the same word as the 34-year old woman who has metastatic malignancies that will kill her. That’s confusing to patients conditioned to treat every cancer diagnosis as an emergency in a world that still reacts to cancer as though it’s the beginning of the end.” The latest round of controversy was set off about DCIS treatment after a study was published by JAMA Oncology. After a 20-year analysis of 100,000 women who were diagnosed with DCIS, the mortality rate from breast cancer of these patients was the same as the general population at 3.3 percent. Radiation from mammogram screening is a breast cancer risk While several organizations like the Susan G. Komen for the Cure heavily promote mammograms for early screening for breast cancer, it’s ironic that mammogram machines put each woman at risk for the very thing they want to prevent. The ionizing radiation used to detect breast tumors is a risk factor for breast cancer development. Additionally, the crushing compression of this test on the breast tissue may potentially spread cancer if the cancer cells are present. After several studies, Cornell University determined people who are exposed to ionizing radiation emitted from machines like the mammogram machine place themselves at risk for breast cancer. They also stated, “… female breast tissue is highly susceptible to radiation effects” as it “is one of the most sensitive tissues to the carcinogenic action of ionizing radiation.” They also revealed that it takes a minimum of five to 10 years for radiation-induced breast cancer to develop. Finally, they concluded that greater levels of radiation exposure lead to a greater risk of breast cancer. Every time a woman is exposed to this form of radiation, she is placing herself at higher risk – especially if the screening is done when there is estrogen stimulation and tissue proliferation that occurs during monthly menstrual cycles. Prevention of breast cancer is better than detection While early detection of breast cancer can be done by mammogram screening, it is not the same as “prevention.” Lifestyle choices will help you prevent cancer or any chronic illness. Be sure to eat real whole and organic foods, drink plenty of fresh (clean) water, exercise regularly, get plenty of rest, and manage stress levels.

Stephanie Woods via NaturalHealth365 – Once again, Big Pharma is chasing the almighty dollar, treating the natural process of aging as a disease, and exposing women to serious injury while doing it. A “black box warning,” the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) most serious warning, has been placed on Veozah (fezolinetant), a drug marketed to menopausal women seeking relief from hot flashes. The drug became suspected of causing severe liver problems when a case was entered into the FDA Adverse Event Reporting System (FAERS) Database. Big Pharma’s latest menopause drug comes with a severe liver injury warning The details of the case entered into the FAERS database described a reaction to the drug that was characterized by symptoms that included nausea, yellow skin and eyes, fatigue, dark urine, itching, and light-colored stools. All of these point to serious liver injury. Within 40 days of the patient starting Veozah, the symptoms were very prominent. She experienced elevated liver blood test values and abnormal bilirubin and liver enzyme levels. Once she stopped taking the drug, her symptoms gradually decreased and eventually went away completely. Over time, her blood test values returned to normal as well. FDA downplays liver injury risks of Veozah while Big Pharma profits from side effects The FDA offered its standard response: “All medicines have side effects, even when used correctly as prescribed.” However, the agency failed to address the significant revenue generated from the serious side effects that benefit pharmaceutical companies. The liver injury in question was severe, requiring additional treatment with more medications to counteract the damage caused by the first drug. In Big Pharma’s world, even when they lose, they still win. FDA downplayed risks The FDA downplayed the risks by using carefully crafted language, emphasizing that liver injury is rare and individual medication responses vary. This made it impossible to predict whether others might suffer the same adverse effects. The agency issued new guidelines for healthcare professionals and patients, recommending more frequent liver blood tests while on Veozah. Patients should undergo testing once a month for the first two months and then at three, six, and nine months. If any signs of liver injury appear, patients are instructed to contact their healthcare provider immediately. Aging is not a curse Aging is a natural process, with the human body undergoing various changes as it adapts to shifting hormone levels and other factors. However, for Big Pharma, it’s an opportunity to profit. According to Medicare’s National Health Expenditure report, adults 65 and older spend more than five times the average on personal health care, reaching $22,356 in 2020. There is an overwhelming societal push to stay unnaturally young. The media constantly feeds us messages suggesting we’re never quite good enough and that as we age, we become irrelevant. Staying young has become synonymous with staying relevant. Sadly, many doctors buy into this narrative, promoting age-defying “remedies” that fuel the industry’s agenda. But aging is not a disease. Cut your risks of pharmaceutical injury with natural solutions There are several natural ways to reduce hot flashes without the harmful side effects that often come with pharmaceutical treatments. One study found that a plant-based, vegan diet rich in soy helped women reduce their hot flashes by 88%. This simple dietary change not only alleviates hot flashes but also eliminates the risk of harmful side effects associated with drugs. Other natural remedies, such as Dong Quai, black cohosh, and red clover, have also been shown to offer relief. Consult with your holistic healthcare provider about incorporating these natural menopause remedies into your routine instead of turning to drugs that can harm your body. The human body is an incredible machine that thrives when given the proper support. Nurture it with natural solutions, and it will serve you well.

Al Sears, MD, CNS – Phthalates – the toxic chemical cocktail manufacturers use to make plastic products more durable and personal products smell better – can increase your risk of developing diabetes by up to 63%… That’s the terrifying conclusion of a new study published in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism.1 And according to the researchers, the damaging effects extend beyond diabetes in these women. Phthalate exposure also contributed to a higher incidence of obesity, infertility, and other endocrine disorders over a six-year period. For reasons not yet understood by the scientists, this damaging association was not seen in middle-aged Black or Asian women—the team plan to investigate these “apparent racial and ethnic differences” in future studies. In a recent letter I wrote you, I warned of how these estrogen-mimickers are affecting men and boys… I’ve been sounding the alarm and warning my patients about the dangers of phthalates for more than 20 years. Sadly, in all that time, the problem has gotten much worse. And the number of products polluted with these alien estrogens has increased. Worldwide, 12 BILLION pounds of phthalates are produced each year. They can be found in thousands of everyday items we bring into our homes on a regular basis. They’re present in medical devices, prescription drugs, cleaning products, personal care products, Phthalates are even in the air you breathe and the foods you eat. In one study, more than 80% of food samples were found to contain a phthalate known as DnBP, while 86% contained a plasticizer known as DEHT.2 Not surprisingly, fast foods, processed foods, baked goods, and other packaged items contain the most phthalates. There are steps you can take to minimize your exposure. Here’s what I tell my patients: Take these simple steps to protect your home and family. Stop storing food in plastic containers and never use them to heat foods. Dust often to remove phthalates from your home. Don’t use products with artificial fragrances. Buy produce that isn’t packaged… even better is buying fresh food from a farmer’s market. And look for personal care products that are labeled phthalate-free. Choose pasture-raised animal protein. I’ve shared the benefits of eating only grass-fed and pastured protein for as long as I’ve been writing to you. Here’s one more… Conventional meat is commonly fed grain-based pellets that come from recycled food waste. Big Food manufacturers send leftover processed foods to industrial grinders, where they’re turned into animal feed (and pet food). Because it’s too expensive, these foods aren’t removed from their packaging, and everything – including plastic, cardboard, and adhesives – gets ground down into animal feed. Replace bottled water with filtered tap water. This simple step reduces your exposure 22-fold.3 The best filter to use is a reverse osmosis filter that forces water through a semi-permeable membrane that captures phthalates and other contaminants. Not just any reverse osmosis system will do, however. The system needs to be NSF/ANSI 58 certified. This certification indicates that the RO system has gone through rigorous tests to ensure it will give you the results you’re looking for. I’ve had these filters installed at my clinic, my offices, and my own home. Supplement to flush phthalates away Sadly, it’s impossible to avoid phthalates in today’s world. Unless you live in a bubble, it’s impossible to avoid them. But there are supplements that can help flush these chemicals from your body. Here are three I recommend to all my patients: Supplement with “crucifers in a capsule.” Veggies like broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, and cabbage contain a compound called diindolylmethane (DIM). This helps your body break down and clear away estrogen mimickers. But it’s hard to get enough DIM from food. You’d have to eat two pounds or more of broccoli every day to get the amount you need. I recommend 100 mg daily. Add this DIM precursor. Indole-3-carbinol (I3C) helps prevent fake estrogens from attaching to your cell’s receptors. It also helps to metabolize estrogen into harmless compounds that are flushed away. Take 100 mg of Indole-3-carbinol per day. Use milk thistle (Silybum marianum). This is one of the best herbs for clearing toxins from your blood. It helps detoxify the liver and restore healthy liver function. Look for dried milk thistle extract. But make sure it has at least 80% silymarin, the active ingredient for liver cleansing. I recommend taking one 200 mg capsule twice daily. To Your Good Health, Al Sears, MD, CNS References: 1.

University of Exeter via Newswise – New research could one day pave the way for the treatment of vaginal yeast infections, by shedding new light on how microbes in the body absorb zinc. Around three quarters of women develop vaginal yeast infections at least once in their lifetime, and approximately 140 million women globally suffer from recurrent infections. Recurrent yeast infections can have an enormous impact of quality of life. Existing anti-fungal treatments are not always effective and resistance against these treatments is developing. Around three quarters of women develop vaginal yeast infections at least once in their lifetime Thrush is caused by a yeast called Candida. There are a number of species of Candida, but the one that causes most yeast infections is Candida albicans. Now, new research, funded by Wellcome and published in Science Translational Medicine and led by the University of Exeter’s MRC Centre for Medical Mycology has found that the trace mineral zinc could play a surprising role. Just like us, Candida albicans needs zinc in its diet and this yeast produces a molecule (Pra1) which tries to scavenge zinc as a food source. Now, researchers have found that this molecule triggers an inflammatory response, which they believe is responsible for many cases of thrush. Wellcome Trust Senior Fellow Dr Duncan Wilson, of the University of Exeter’s MRC Centre for Medical Mycology, led the research, and said: “Recurring thrush can be deeply distressing and problematic, and we urgently need new treatments. Our new finding on zinc is very exciting, because it suggests that simple provision of zinc could block the production of the inflammatory Pra1 molecule, but we’re not in the position to make treatment recommendations at this stage. We need larger scale trials to confirm the effect. Please don’t apply any products that are not designed for the genital area, as zinc can be toxic at high concentrations, and it could be extremely unsafe.” Zinc could block the production of the inflammatory Pra1 molecule In lab experiments, the team found that manipulating genes so that Candida albicans does not produce Pra1 prevented inflammation. They went on to find that applying relatively low levels of zinc in mice blocked Pra1 production and prevented inflammation. This is important because it is inflammation that causes the burning, itching symptoms of thrush. The research team also recruited women who had been experiencing vaginal infections at least once every three months. The women applied a vaginal moisturizing cream which contains a small amount of zinc nightly for two weeks, and then twice a week. Of six women who completed the study and had vulvovaginal candidiasis (thrush), five of them did not experience reinfection over the three-month study. Dr Wilson said: “These findings are very encouraging, although the number of participants is small. We are now carrying out a larger clinical trial to confirm that zinc treatments are effective. In the longer term, we hope this could be a promising strategy for a condition could evolve resistance to treatment. “We’d been studying this Pra1 molecule for more than ten years to understand its role in zinc scavenging – this research shows the fundamental importance of basic research of this nature, which can help shed light on how our bodies work and sometimes provide surprising routes to new treatments.” The paper is entitled ‘Zinc prevents vaginal candidiasis by inhibiting expression of an inflammatory fungal protein’, and is published in Science Translational Medicine. The research is supported by the Exeter NIHR Biomedical Research Centre. To read the original article click here.

Dr. Don Colbert – Being a mom is a wonderful journey. From being a young mom with a young family to middle age and senior years, moms need energy, a clear head, good health, and convenient choices. They do a lot. Typically, their energy is spent on others. Keto Zone helps moms stay healthy throughout life, and focus on themselves. If you’re a mom or know one, you know moms deserve the best. Keto Zone is here for moms! Keto Zone Helps Moms Stay Healthy — Starting With Young If there’s one thing that summarizes a young mom’s life, it’s feeling busy. Having a baby, toddlers, small children and school-aged kids can feel overwhelming. Oftentimes, young moms put their own health, fitness, and well-being on the back burner while taking care of a young family. Thankfully, the Keto Zone Diet and Keto Zone Shakes contain great nutrients for overall health and a healthy weight, and they can be incredibly convenient for busy moms. Primarily, the Keto Zone is based on healthy fats. The Keto Zone diet and Keto Zone Shake contains MCT oil powder and avocado oil powder. Both are great for health and lasting energy. Keto Zone’s healthy fats and nutrients specifically: Promote weight loss while keeping you feeling full. In fact, a high-fat diet helps you stay satisfied and satiated even when losing weight (1). Target abdominal fat. Many moms struggle with losing stubborn abdominal fat. Keto Zone Shakes’ fats promote abdominal fat loss, especially compared to high-carbohydrate diets. It will improve whole-body health and can reduce the risk of chronic disease (2, 3). Provide the substrates for ketosis. If you are using Keto Zone as a diet and lifestyle, you need healthy fats to enter the Keto Zones. The fats in the Keto Zone Shake are perfect for ketosis and also work as brain fuel for clarity, focus, and improved brain health (4). Utilize fibers instead of refined carbohydrates. In fact, each serving of Keto Zone Shake include 8 grams of fiber! These fibers are derived from sweet potato fiber and chicory root, a fructooligosaccharide (FOS). Fructooligosaccharides are very important in the body and support healthy bacteria colonies in the gut, which play a role in whole-body health and immune function (5, 6, 7). Is high in antioxidants and anti-inflammatories. These compounds fight free radicals that damage and age our cells, and reduce inflammation associated with chronic disease. Contains moderate amounts of protein. Protein helps young moms rebuild and restore cells. It also promotes hormone balance and overall health. If you’re considering a healthy diet as a young mom, treat yourself to Keto Zone. The overall diet, which is detailed in the Keto Zone Diet Book, and Keto Zone Shakes, can make it easy to take care of your health each day. Keto Zone Helps Moms Stay Healthy Throughout Middle Age As a mom enters middle age, she may want to stay healthy, be full of energy, age beautifully, and feel completely clear-headed. Keto Zone helps moms stay healthy through middle age. In addition to providing all the nutrients and health benefits listed above for young mom, Keto Zone is: Anti-Aging: It’s high use of healthy oils and fats, such as olive oil, targets the challenges of aging. Incredibly, more than 200 different chemical compounds have been detected in olive oil such as sterols, carotenoids, triterpenic alcohols, and phenolic compounds. In addition to oleic acid, olive oil’s other minor nutrients, like vitamin E and polyphenols, can alter and improve gene expression, pathways, and more (8). This means beautiful healthy skin and young cells. Energizing: The Keto Zone Diet and Shakes provide amazing energy by utilizing ketones. This energy is not like the ups and downs associated with a high-carbohydrate diet, but steady, long-lasting energy. Clear and focused: One amazing aspect of ketones is that they help provide your brain with energy. Most Keto Zone dieters report feeling clear-headed, focused, and on-task. Ketones are amazingly beneficial to brain health. Keto Zone Helps Moms Stay Healthy Through Menopause and Senior Years One hallmark of menopause is a difficulty in maintaining a healthy weight. Unfortunately, many women report difficulty losing weight, and an increase in abdominal fat. One issue is that women experience a lesser ability to deal with carbohydrates. Blood sugars and insulin levels often increase. Keto Zone can help. Just like in younger years, Keto Zone promotes abdominal fat loss. Since it contains minimal carbohydrates, it can help moms sail through menopause without weight gain. What’s more, Keto Zone Hormone Zone and Thyroid Zone support a mom’s changing hormone levels. This can be a huge help as estrogen, progesterone, and thyroid hormones change throughout the lifecycle. Bottom Line It’s almost Mother’s Day.
